Lucid Terms and Conditions

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using Lucid (“the App”), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions (“Terms”). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App. These Terms apply to all users of Lucid, including both free and paid subscribers.

2. Who We Are

Lucid is developed and operated by Egemen Günel and Caner Olcay (“we”, “us”, “our”). For any questions regarding these Terms, contact us at lecturelensai@gmail.com.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use Lucid. By using the App, you represent that you meet this requirement. Users aged 13–15 in the European Union or European Economic Area must have parental or guardian consent. We reserve the right to terminate accounts found to be in violation of this requirement.

4. Your Account

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and for all activity that occurs under it. You must provide accurate information when signing up via Apple Sign-In and keep it up to date. You may not share your account with others or create accounts on behalf of third parties. Notify us immediately at lecturelensai@gmail.com if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree to use Lucid only for lawful purposes and in a manner consistent with these Terms. You must not:

  • Upload content that is illegal, harmful, threatening, defamatory, obscene, or that infringes any third-party rights

  • Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or extract source code from the App

  • Use the App to scrape, harvest, or collect data about other users

  • Attempt to circumvent any usage limits, subscription checks, or authentication mechanisms

  • Use the App in any way that could damage, disable, or impair our servers or infrastructure

  • Upload content you do not have the right to share

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if we determine, at our sole discretion, that you have violated these rules.

6. User-Generated Content

You retain ownership of all content you create or upload within Lucid, including flashcards, images, and chat messages (“Your Content”). By using the App, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, process, and display Your Content solely for the purpose of providing the service to you. We do not claim ownership of Your Content and do not use it to train AI models or share it with third parties except as described in our Privacy Policy.

You are solely responsible for Your Content and warrant that it does not violate any applicable law or third-party rights.

7. AI-Generated Content

Lucid uses third-party AI services (OpenRouter, Google Gemini, and OpenAI) to generate flashcards, quiz questions, and chat responses based on your uploaded material. You acknowledge that:

  • AI-generated content may be inaccurate, incomplete, or misleading

  • AI output should not be relied upon as a substitute for professional advice (medical, legal, financial, or otherwise)

  • We make no guarantees about the accuracy or quality of AI-generated content

  • You are responsible for verifying the accuracy of any content you use for academic or professional purposes

8. Subscriptions and Payments

Free tier. Lucid is available for free with limits on the number of collections, flashcard batches, pages uploaded, and monthly AI chat messages.

Crystal subscription. Crystal is a paid, auto-renewing subscription that unlocks higher usage limits. Pricing is displayed in the App prior to purchase.

Billing. All payments are processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not handle or store payment information directly. Your subscription will automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date.

Cancellation. You can cancel your subscription at any time through your Apple ID settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you retain access to Crystal features until then.

Refunds. All refund requests are handled by Apple in accordance with their refund policy. We have no ability to issue refunds directly.

Restore Purchases. You can restore a previous purchase at any time from the Lucid Settings screen.

9. Free Trial

If a free trial is offered for Crystal, it will begin immediately upon purchase. Unused trial time is forfeited if you purchase a Crystal subscription before the trial ends. The subscription will automatically convert to a paid subscription at the end of the trial unless cancelled beforehand.

10. Intellectual Property

All content within Lucid that is not Your Content — including the App itself, its design, code, branding, graphics, and text — is owned by Egemen Günel and Caner Olcay or licensed to us, and is protected by applicable intellectual property law. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of the App without our prior written consent.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

Lucid is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free from bugs or viruses. We do not guarantee that AI-generated content will be accurate or suitable for your intended purpose. Use of the App is at your own risk.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Egemen Günel and Caner Olcay shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use Lucid, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of revenue, or reliance on AI-generated content. Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or the use of Lucid shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Egemen Günel, Caner Olcay, and any associated parties from and against any claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of Lucid, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third-party rights.

14. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to Lucid at any time, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms or if we discontinue the App. You may stop using the App at any time and delete your account from within Lucid via Settings → Delete Account. Upon termination, your right to use the App ceases immediately. Sections 6, 10, 11, 12, and 13 survive termination.

15. Changes to the App and Terms

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of Lucid at any time without notice. We may also update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes within the App. Continued use of Lucid after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.

16. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Turkey, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of Lucid shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Turkey.

17. Apple App Store Additional Terms

The following terms apply because Lucid is distributed via the Apple App Store:

  • These Terms are between you and us, not between you and Apple

  • Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for Lucid

  • In the event Lucid fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple and Apple will refund your purchase price (if any); Apple has no other warranty obligation

  • Apple is not responsible for addressing any claims relating to Lucid or your use of it

  • Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these Terms and may enforce them against you
